Experience

Volunteer work

While i was playing  Jr.a hockey I did a ton of volunteering like helping in schools, food banks, helping senior citizens, and sledge hockey. It has given me the chance to connect with people in ways that have shaped who I am.

Reading to kids in schools has been one of the most rewarding parts, seeing their excitement and knowing I helped make learning fun is an amazing accomplishment too me. Working with senior citizens has taught me patience and the value of slowing down to really listen, whether we are doing activities or just sharing stories. While I was at the food bank, helping sort and distribute food has opened my eyes to the challenges many families face and has made me more grateful and aware of the importance of community support.

I also visited schools to talk about how hockey has impacted my life. Being able to inspire students through something I love is incredibly meaningful. Playing sledge hockey with the physically disabled athletes has been especially a great eye opener. It’s shown me the power of adaptability, teamwork, and the pure joy of sport. Each of these experiences have helped me grow into a better mindfulness person with a deeper commitment to helping others.

Oilfield

I have been working for Align Energy Services since July 2023 in the summers. Working in the oilfield has given me hands on experience that has shaped my work ethic and my understanding of what it means to work at a highly stressful job. On the maintenance crew, I’ve learned the importance of precision and safety while bolting up pipes for pressure tests, making sure every connection is secure and every step is done right. Cleaning up job sites has taught me attention to detail and the value of staying organised in fast paced environments. Assisting welders and pipe fitters has shown me how much trust and communication matter, especially when the job depends on everyone supporting each other. Through these experiences I’ve gained confidence, stronger problem-solving skills, and a deeper respect for the hard work that keeps operations running smoothly.
